Scavenger Hunt: Save the party!

December 1st, 2009

Codemasters have launched a scavenger hunt, and Renkosi’s guide is taking part.

A lonely hobbit farmer is planning is party, but he has lost all his food! Well typical hobbit if you ask me, but apparently he sent some of it to me for safe keeping. Some might say that sending food to a young dwarf for safe keeping is an unwise move, but I’ve not eaten it (I promise). The trouble is I’ve forgotten where I’ve put it and I have a hot date with a hoard of orcs, so if you get a chance do look for it, you might find a few clues here in my journal.

If you do find it, or at least a clue can you send the food to the farmer directly by the quick post on my behalf? I’m told that there maybe a reward if you can find all the food.

Skirmishes

November 22nd, 2009

Mirkwood The skirmish system is probably the biggest addition to LotRO that comes with the Siege of Mirkwood expansion. The size of the adition is reflected in the number of developer diaries that have been written on the system, there are no less than six! Given the amount of developer coverage of this major game mechanic there has been relativity little player comment, but most comments seem to suggest that they are well worth doing! I’ll start by giving you a breakdown of the diaries:

Highlights and links to screen shots and videos of the skirmishes and rewards follow the break.

    • The Dungeons of Dol Guldur
    • The Sword-hall of Dol Guldur
    • The Warg-pens of Dol Guldur

Crafting to level 65

November 22nd, 2009

ScuttledellsSadly there is no new crafting tier, but there are new recipes from the elves in Mirkwood. The new recipes have similar statistics to those available in Lothlorien but have less requirements (no Mithril flake required) and are multi not single use. The recipes also have multiple output options allowing them to be customised for different classes.
