The Twitter feed generated from the articles that Renkosi.com finds has been updated. Posts from other bloggers should now once again appear and the number of posts should be reduced a little. We noticed before that we often got repeated posts as Turbine and Codemasters (and then others) would post the same news. The new filtering engine should cut down on the number of tweets generated by this noise. Hopefully each new announcement should appear no more than twice in any 72 hour period, but we will be keeping an eye on it and will tweak the algorithm if required.

Sunday, September 27th, 2009Siege of Mirkwood Roundup
Sunday, September 20th, 2009Regular LOTRO watchers will have spotted that the next expansion has been announced (EU) was announced a couple of weeks ago, so I felt it was time to do a news round up. There is already a decent number of round ups of the main items, so I’ll keep this brief and stick to the interesting bits with plenty of links out. If you want a general round up then I can recommend all of the following articles: Massively, MMeOw, Perls of Unwisdom and Sandriell. Ten Ton Hammer also has a video interview which covers most of the bases.
Siege of Mirkwood videos
Sunday, September 20th, 2009It’s still early days for the Siege of Mirkwood, but there are a few videos of the expansion floating around that surfaced at PAX.
The most comprehensive video is available from Ten Ton Hammer, the amount of game play shown is limited but you can clearly see that this is a new vision of Middle Earth with dark forest (unsurprisingly) throughout the area. Jeffrey Steefel is at the controls and also gives a run down of the main features.
There also appears to be some fan footage (also from PAX) on YouTube, I’ve included it below:
Willpatmo says:
Some video I took at PAX of the upcoming expansion to The Lord of the Rings Online.
Of special note is the interior Dol Goldur footage, culminating in a confrontation with a
Nazgul on a Fell Beast, the finale of the new 12 man raid.
Renkosi.com updated for LOTRO: Siege of Mirkwood
Sunday, September 20th, 2009With the announcement two weeks ago of the arrival of the second paid expansion for LOTRO: the Siege of Mirkwood it was inevitable that I would have to update the site, so Renkosi.com has become Renkosi’s guide to the Siege of Mirkwood! The feature articles and editorial for Renkosi.com are now all organised in a blog, with the automated news updates displayed more prominently on the front page. The RSS feeds are still available as before with a new option, you can now track just the new Mirkwood news:
