The new raids introduce bosses with yet more dread (no surprises there then!). The main raiding area is Dol Guldur, and has been described in a dev diary. They break down into five instances (available at launch) as follows:
- Three 3-person dungeons:
- The Dungeons of Dol Guldur
- The Sword-hall of Dol Guldur
- The Warg-pens of Dol Guldur
- One 6-person dungeon:
- Sammath Gul
- One 12-person raid:
- Barad Guldur
The solution to the dread is to collect yet more radiance set pieces. Beta players suggest that the toughest bosses will give 190 dread and suggest a minimum of 120 radiance. This can be obtained from the new +25 3 piece set obtained from the new instances and the +15 set available from volume 2 book 8 instances. There is of course also the +30 set that can be obtained, thus making the dread easier to handle. If you are a up for a challenge, it appears to be possible to obtain this in under four hours.
As with the raids in Moria each instance has a “challenge” or hard mode that players can engage by taking on certain tasks. These as before make the fight more difficult but increase the level of rewards.
For an overview of each of the raids read through the dev diary which lays out the key things that happen in each instance. In terms of the raids themselves there is a lengthy question and answer thread available on the US forums.
